Welcome to the first issue of the FredHoffman.com e-newsletter!!

Well, a lot has been going on in the last few months and although summer is approaching, it appears that things won't be slowing down too much, though I will be taking a few weeks at the beach in August…

New Web Site | ACE Achievement Awards | Tsunami Fundraiser | Trip to India | Web Site "en français"
Paris Marathon | Fred Hoffman DVDs!!! | IDEA World Fitness Convention

The year started off quite busy with the launch of my web site, and I appreciate all of the nice e-mails that I received congratulating me. Many of you took the time to write and give me feedback, and I would again like to say thank you! Over the next few months, I will be making some updates to the site, and will be adding some new features. As most of you know, maintaining a web site is a lot of work, but it is very gratifying to see that so many people have visited, and taken the time to learn about me and discover the services and products that I offer!

I am proud to announce that I am the 1st runner-up of the 2005 ACE Achievement Award, Group Fitness Instructor of the Year. This the second year in a row that I have been the 1st runner-up and I am honored to be recognized by ACE for this award! You can read about all of the winners at http://www.acefitness.org/cp/achievement_awards.aspx

I co-organized a fundraiser with Alison Benney and Gail Negbaur, which was held on February 5 at the American Church of Paris for the victims of the tsunami in South East Asia . We had a great response with approximately 90 people participating in several different fitness classes. We raised 1300 Euros (US$1600) for GOAL, an international humanitarian agency based in Ireland.

In mid February I traveled to India to conduct Reebok Core Training workshops in three cities. It was my fourth time to India , but the first in 6 years….wow, have things progressed there. You can read more about my impressions of the Indian Fitness industry in the March issue of the ACE Professional E-newsletter

In April, I launched the French version of my web site, so if any of you native English speakers want to practice your French (rusty or not…), go to my home page and click on ‘Français'…

Bonne chance!!

In April, I conducted a warm-up for the Paris Marathon sponsored by Reebok France. What an exhilarating event!

The starting line was at the bottom of the Champs Elysées. As I was closer to the Arc de Triomphe, it allowed me to see the huge crowd of runners (30,000 participants) fill up the whole length of one of the world's most famous avenues…click here to see some photos from that memorable day!

THE BIG NEWS is that I have filmed four DVDs for Fitness enthusiasts and professionals alike. A long time in coming, and a result of numerous requests, they are in the final stages of editing and will be available for purchase on my web site starting in July. The four DVDs are:
- Step! By Numbers (step choreography, all levels)
- Balance and Power (a yoga inspired workout)
- CORE-ography, Vol. 1
- CORE-ography, Vol. 2 (a 2 set series of core conditioning and stabilization exercises)

I will soon be sending out additional information concerning purchase and shipping as soon as the DVDs are available…

Always a fun and inspiring event, the IDEA World Fitness Convention takes place next month in Las Vegas . I will be presenting 4 sessions, including one on Global Fitness day. I know that a lot of you will be coming to the convention and I look forward to seeing you there. I will be selling my DVDs at the presenter marketplace located in the trade show, so look for me there!!
